Serenity.
- Pavilion For Self
Serenity is peaceful, calm environment that surrounds and cocoons itself with nature. This particular pavilion represents a profound reflection of my inner emotions by going through the past and towards the future. The concept of this pavilion exposes my fragility and an open mind to the natural outside world, and the people outside can immerse into a tranquil ambience of my contemporary space. They are separated yet connected, and they engage to provide the significance of nature. Finely detail textures of the canopy and a path that follows through the pavilion entrust small miracles of nature, that circuit a focused passage to tearing down focal point into fragmented planes of materials and texture.
To adjust the elements of bamboo columns that appear to be attached to each textured recycled rubber canopy, which makes the environment more ornate. The configuration of the soft grass provides an emphatic visual termination to the composition of contemporary space. The soft organic forms of ‘Serenity’ decode the division of space placement where the environment creates a balance of simplicity and complexity. ‘Serenity’ pavilion demonstrates the relationship between physical features taking into account the people who will act and interact with this contemporary space.
The design process of my pavilion required moulding and stippling of Plasticine to achieve shape, form and stiffness in fascinating ways. Bamboo toothpicks placed in designated spots to allow the canopy to bend in different directions. Thus, giving the opportunity to cover the pavilion surface with abstract forms. Once the components were assembled, the pavilion place in the environment of South Bank, CBD, where I spent a good deal of my childhood.

Ignite.
- Fashion Show Runaway, Inspired by Hunger Games
The aim of this project work was to show how film as a medium can develop the understanding of interior design (both the outcome and the act of creation); and instil an awareness for film as a media with the potential to influence, understand, and further develop interior spaces. Through this project I used the elements of film and mise-en-scene to better understand what similarities and differences are utilised by designers to design real world spaces.
It was crucial to correctly analyse through text and graphics of the mise-en-scene (particularly spatial, atmospheric and design strategies) from a key scene of The Hunger Games film and use these approaches as inspiration for the design of a runway design for a Filmic Fashion Show. Cinematic effects are of importance here, as is consideration of fashion collections to be displayed within the show.

Inhibit Tea Sensations.
- Tea House, Inspired by Slow Design Principles
Inhibit Tea Sensations captures the essence of multi-culturalism and how it embraces the tea ritual beyond the industrial revolution. The tea making offers a one of a kind user experience that allows sharing ideas of ritual process of everyday life, that are often missed or forgotten. This space is designed to bring human relationships closer to nature, where the ancient traditional tea making process is cohesively brought together in the Inhibit Tea Sensations workshops. The structure of this space helps to relax from stressful days and follow the ritual process from start to finish.
Inhibit Tea Sensations creates a slow design which allows people to participate in the tea making process and embrace the ideas of social accountability and bring communities together within Fortitude Valley suburban area and neighbourhood. This space reflects the atmospheric qualities only found in tranquillity, which provides time for the consumers to stop and think about reflection and visualise the tea process to create a sense of relaxation and wellbeing.
This space truly expands the existing environment and recognises that experiences can become further enriched through the slow design concept. The Inhibit Tea Sensation space looks beyond the needs of the consumers, by allowing them to interact and get hands-on through re-design new tea sensations and reconfigure tea making.
Inhibit Tea Sensations was designed and created through the Slow Design Principle, which is further inspired by the traditional and ritual multi-cultural tea making. Each tea infuser represents a different cup of unique memory of tea making.
